Arkansas alpaca farms will continue to make a larger contribution to the State's agricultural production as the industry grows. Food, lumber and wood products form a major portion of the Arkansas economy. Arkansas is also a leader in the production of cotton, rice, and soybeans. The United State’s only active diamond mine, located near Murfreesboro, is in Arkansas. Alpaca breeders have found that this sturdy breed of livestock is well adapted to the varying climate and geography of the State.

He threw himself on the ground before my father, who went to meet him, and taking his hand, he looked up imploringly in his face...."
