Colorado alpaca farms will make a larger contribution to the State's agricultural production as the industry grows. The farm industry, which is primarily concentrated in livestock, is an important element of the state's economy. The primary crops in Colorado are corn, hay, and wheat. Colorado's economy now includes service industries, including medical providers and other business and professional services, and a strong manufacturing base producing food products, printing and publishing, machinery, and electrical instruments. Alpaca breeders in Colorado have discovered that the alpaca's adaptability make the breed ideal across the State. Colorado is home to one the United States' oldest alpaca breed associations.
