High Spice Alpacas is a small farm located high on a southern Colorado mountain top at an elevation of 10,000 feet.

Walking Lightly Farm seeks to minimize negative impacts on the environment, using the least intrusive livestock management techniques, while ensuring the health and safety of their alpacas. Walking Lightly Farm also seeks to live in harmony with its "living environment". Coyotes. Bears. Mountain lions. Predator control, essential in this area of Colorado, is based on non-lethal methods, including livestock guardian dogs (LGDs). Here especially you can see the Walking Lightly philosophy at work.

Being a small farm, customers can be assured of personalized service, support, and intimate knowledge of every alpaca that sold. Visitors are always welcome; just call ahead.

He threw himself on the ground before my father, who went to meet him, and taking his hand, he looked up imploringly in his face...."
