Oregon alpaca farms will continue to make a larger contribution to the State's agricultural production as the industry grows. In agriculture, the state leads in growing peppermint, cover seed crops, blackberries, boysenberries, loganberries, black raspberries, and hazelnuts. It is second in raising hops, red raspberries, prunes, snap beans, and onions. Oregon is home to a large and growing alpaca population, having one of the largest "per capita" herds in the world.
