Illinois Alpaca Owners & Breeders Association

Formed as a not-for-profit corporation in 2004, IAOBA members had been meeting since 2003 at various farms across the state. Recognizing the need for an organized affiliate, they began the process of applying as an AOBA Affiliate and succeeded in November of 2004.

 The Illinois Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (IAOBA) is the official Illinois Affiliate of the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (AOBA). Breeders within the state of Illinois have recognized that the industry is growing very quickly in our state.  Since 2000, the number of alpaca farms in the state has increased by amazing percentages. Growing from just 17 to over 75.
