Virginia Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association |

Contact: Sue Ives Virginia USA Website During an evening meeting in January, 2005, when alpaca breeders local to central Virginia met to discuss the various ways to network and support each other, the realization dawned that Virginia was home to over a hundred farms, and a dynamic state industry that was growing every day. What was really needed to organize and advance all aspects of the alpaca industry in Virginia was to become a recognized affiliate of the national association, AOBA. Educational grants, certifications for halter and fleece shows, marketing assistance and support - all of these benefits derive from that affiliation, and Virginia wanted to participate! In May of 2005, with all the paperwork behind it, VAOBA became the 31st recognized AOBA affiliate, adopted a Mission Statement - and hit the ground running! |
