Stage One

Labor usually begins in the morning.  There is some evidence that the chance of serious dystocias increases with late afternoon, evening or night time births.

9:30 AM - Rainsong has made several trips to the dung pile without producing anything. She looks uncomfortable and is doing a lot of standing up and laying down. These are pretty good signs that a birth is imminent!
